Many of us know very little about Netaji Shubash Chandra Bose's student life. So on his birthday here are a few facts which will double your liking for the man he was.
- Shubash Chandra Bose secured 2nd position in matriculation examination in 1913.
- Shubashji then studied briefly at Presidency college where he was expelled for assaulting Professor Oaten for the latter's anti-India comments. This shows his nationalistic temperment.
- Netaji studied for ICS only in 8 months and secured 4th rank and rejected a beautiful life ahead of him by not accepting to join the service which meant working under british.
- Netaji wrote a letter to his brother "Only on the soil of sacrifice and suffering can we raise our national edifice" and resigned from his job. This shows how deeply he loved India and was waiting for the day to kick britishers out of his mother-land.
- Netaji then started his own newspaper 'Swaraj' under the guidance of Chittaranjan Das, who was known for his aggressive nationalism.
